Child Soldiers

“In over twenty countries around the world, children are direct participants in war. Denied a childhood and often subjected to horrific violence, an estimated 200,000 to 300,000 children are serving as soldiers for both rebel groups and government forces in current armed conflicts.” Says Protocol I of the Geneva Conventions. Although countries in the U.S.A do not have children as soldiers, other countries still do. For example in China have children as soldiers. We, the people of the world need to change this as quickly as possible!

Things That May Happen and the answers

  • If this is not changed the death rate may increase because most of the children which could be the parents of tomorrow can die in an instant.

  • If we take them out of the armies and put them in schools for an education. Then they can get jobs and have children

  • Some children are put into rebel groups to be soldiers.

  • Compromise with all countries that have children as soldiers and if they are willing to compromise they can pass a law to make having a child as a soldier will be illegal.

  • The lives of children are being taken away.

  • Put posters up around your community and on the internet. The poster must say the consequences of child soldiers.

On this ocassion I plead honor to these kids writing this poem:

How many children must die?
Won’t they rather have a piece of pie?
Oh little one in the bush
Why are you here
There is an ambush!
Responded the little one
“Don’t you think you could die?”
Of course but a mean man made me join
Didn’t you try to fight it off?

Little Kid Hunger

We should not throw our food around. Now that there are so many kids dying of hunger we cannot waste food. We were blessed with a good school to start with and we are damaging it? There are other schools that are not like ours. If we are in a situation where we run out of food we’ll understand why it’s important to save food.

Little boys and girls will kill for a bean you have said Ms.Rooney. Well, I’m not very sure a little boy or girl would do that. But there are a lot of hungry kids out there. 8,840,685 people have died so far from starvation. 85% of these people where little boys and girls. Our brothers and sisters died from the worst possible death, starvation. Somewhere around 85% of these starvation deaths occur in children 5 years of age or younger. Why are we letting at least 30,273 of the most beautiful children die the worst possible death every day? Every 2.43 seconds another one of our fellow brothers and sisters dies of starvation. Starvation happens 365 days per year, 24 hours per day, it never stops.1

These deaths are dictated by the greed of a very few, and the rest of us are not changing it wouldn’t it not be happening then, now would it? Let us not forget that the vast majority of these needless deaths are of children 5 years of age and under. One person every 2 seconds needlessly dies from starvation, water borne diseases or AIDS.

If the truth were to be known, not only did these fellow humans died in the worst imaginable death, in fact they were and always are, very quietly being murdered. These crazy, barbaric deaths are mainly perpetrated by few, the extremely rich and powerful people. 2 But the inherent greed that is allowing this daily mass murdering of our fellow human beings is based in the roots of capitalism itself. This means we all have the blood of the tens of thousands of innocent children on our hands every minute of every day. This is not very good karma for us. We must quickly put an end to our relentlessly crazy and barbaric slaughtering of our own species children.

This is what is happening around the world. Many die but we must stop the madness. Now I know why not to mess around with my food. Now I am going to try to save all the food I can so I can give it to one of those kids who are slowly dying of hunger. Hopefully, we all get to stop this crazy stuff. I am going to try to get all my friends to do the same thing I want to do so we can save the starving kids.

Dear Nayito

This is the last poetry we've made at the end of school year 2007:

You;re a very special person
And Nayito, you should know
How Iloved to be your teacher
And how fast the year did go!

We did a lot of special things
We learnd, we laughed, we cared
I always will remember you
And all the fun we shared.

Please come back to visit me
As through the gardes you grow,
Try hard to learn all that you can
There is so much to know!

The one thing I tried to teach you,
to last your whole life through
Is to know that you are special
Just because you're you!
